Photo Gallery Help

If you've never posted photos on our Member Photo Gallery before, here is a brief tutorial on getting stared:

Here are the the basic steps you will need to take:

  1. Create an account for yourself on our chapter's website so that you can add pictures to the gallery. You only need to do this the first time.
  2. Get your pictures onto your computer, and organize them before you start to upload them.
  3. Login to the account you created.
  4. Create a new photo album (if your photos do not fit into one of the album categories already online).
  5. Add pictures to the album.
  6. You can edit the titles and add more pictures later, if you want to.

Of course, we need to ask a few questions before we get started with the step-by-step instructions:

  1. Do you know how to get your pictures onto your computer? If not, contact Mark Johnson.
  2. What kind of connection to the Internet do you have?
    • dial-up modem (slow)
    • cable or DSL (fast)
  3. How many of the pictures will you be sharing?

OK, let's do the first step (Create an account for yourself):

  1. Using your web browser, go to our website: http://www.or-lcthf.org/
  2. Click on the word "Gallery" on the left side of the home page (the 5th item down in the list).
  3. The Gallery page comes up. Now click on "Register" in the upper right-hand part of the page.
  4. Fill in the required fields (make up your own username and password):
    Example:
      Username (required): bob
      Full name (required): Bob Thakmartin
      Email Address (required): bob.thakmartin@domain.com
      Password (required): (Make something up. Be sure that it is something you will remember)
      Verify Password (required): (Just repeat your password. This ensures that you didn't accidentally make an error when you entered it the first time.)
      Enter Human Verifier (required): (Type in the numbers and letters exactly as they appear in the box. This verifies that a human, not a spambot, is registering this account)
  5. Click the "Register" button at the bottom of the page.

Now on to the second step:

    Sometime later you will get an e-mail message telling you that your account has been set up. Go back to the Gallery page, and log in. You can then proceed with sharing your pictures!
